The Broome Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation Facility is an innovative response to meeting the needs of visitors from remote communities.
There are over 200 remote Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley region and statistics show that there can be more than 100 people sleeping rough in and around Broome on any given night.
The Broome Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation Facility will be a welcome addition to the Shire.
The facility consists of Administration / Reception building, Dining and Kitchen area, Laundry, Workshop, Bin store, Ablution Block, 12 Type A Accommodation Units, 12 Type B Accommodation Units, 20 Type C Accommodation Units and a Caretakers Facility.
